Mark Baughman 

Mark Baughman is an accomplished design architect and has been recognized by the International Interior Design Association, American Institute of Architects, DC Building Industry Association, National Association of Industrial Office Properties, and Engineering News-Record with more than 25 design awards. His expansive portfolio includes associations, corporations, law firms, federal and public work, residential, retail, and hospitality projects. Mark has designed and built projects all around the world, including sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent. A registered architect in 20 states and the District of Columbia, Mark has a keen knowledge of architectural history and styles and directs the design efforts of the firm, ensuring consistency of design quality.

In addition to his work as an architect, Mark has been deeply involved with the community since starting his architectural practice in 1987.  For over 20 years, Mark served as Board member, President, and pro bono architect for Sarah’s Circle, an organization that was formed out of The Enterprise Foundation and provides housing and services for low-income seniors in the Adams Morgan neighborhood. At the same time, he served as co-Chair of the DC Building Industry Association, where he led the volunteer renovations of 18 Washington DC parks in troubled neighborhoods, working closely with parents, police, and neighborhood stakeholders.

Mark was appointed to different important civic committees including the DC Workforce Investment Board the DC School Modernization Oversight Board and the DC Building Department Leadership Committee.
